Spa Road is located in the heart of the Bermondsey Regeneration area. The sites location provided an opportunity to design a scheme that has a positive effect on the regeneration of this area and introduce a contemporary building style.

The design concept for the scheme is made up of two solid elements that slide past each other and are separated by a transparent third element. The different elements create opportunities for green amenity spaces at different levels of the building and provide areas of interaction and focus for the residential accommodation. The approved scheme is comprised of 33 residential dwellings above 400sqm of commercial space and associated services and transportation facilities.

The scheme was entirely clad in sleek aluminium with projecting pods providing private amenity and flashes of colour and warmth. The circulation areas are designed to be more tactile and the scheme also provides an expansive south facing green roof for shared amenity and views.
